C64 A BOX installation by LYNfabrikken

Opening friday November 4 2016.

Do you remember the Commodore 64?
For a lot of people it is a symbol of a time of play, gaming and curiosity.

Introduced in 1982, the C64 is the highest selling single computer model of all time. It became an icon of the 80s and part of this success was due to the fact that it was a piece of affordable new technology -with the best sound and graphical specifications compared to earlier computers.

LYNfabrikken has made the new BOX exhibition “C64” as a reminder of play, as this computer is one of the strongest symbols of play of our time.

The window of BOX has been added a full folio with the start-screen of the C64. A startpage which many people can remember. The cursor is made of a LED box on the inside of the window and it’s a copy of the C64 cursor.

In this small video we have shared some anekdotes from that time. We interview a person who was part of the C64 scene in the 80s - and we ask what made him spend hours and hours in front of the computer.

We hope you like the exhibition!
