About this book:
BOX Exhibitions 2009–15 is a 288 pages richly illustrated book giving the reader a detailed insight into the 29 exhibitions that took place in BOX, an exhibitions space by LYNfabrikken in Aarhus, Denmark, in the years 2009 to 2015.

The window gallery has been a framework for a wide range of experimental, international, site-speci c exhibitions bordering design and art. Players in the eld of design, architecture and crafts were given the opportunity to explore the part of their production that was more artwork than product.

This book is a visual journey through these 29 exhibitions. Also, through a conversation with curator Lasse Schuleit, the principles of BOX as a unique space with its own set of curatorial principles, alternative physical sceno- graphy and dogmas is explored in this book.

BOX was a closed space, and all exhibitions were therefore experienced from the street, giving BOX the effect of a shop showcase. BOX interfered with life in the street and offered inspiration to everybody on their way through the city – in the form of a quick x or a xture for thoughts.

The photographs and brief texts shown in this book are all that is left of the exhibitions, giving an international audience the opportunity to explore these designs created for the unique setting of the door, the window and the carpet.
